About the role#
This Controls Engineering Intern/Co-Op position is based within the Customer Service Modernizations and Upgrades group. You will work under the direction of senior engineers to perform basic tasks and support project execution. This role requires the ability to travel to customer locations across the United States for 40 to 50 percent of the time.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design of routine systems that integrate hardware and software.
- Aid in the start-up, commissioning, and testing of material handling systems.
- Assist with software PLC emulation and testing.
- Recommend ideas related to productivity improvement.
- Support lead engineers with project documentation and daily tasks.
- Communicate project updates effectively using written and verbal skills.
- Identify and resolve straightforward problems as they occur.
What you'll need#
- Active pursuit of a BS or BA undergraduate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Computer Engineering.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals.
- Demonstration of basic knowledge regarding professional engineering principles.
- Experience with PLC programming is preferred but not required.
- Ability to seek advice and guidance on nonroutine or complex areas.
