About the role#
Gorbel is looking for a Data BI Analyst Co-Op to join our team in Victor, New York. This is a full-time, paid position that offers hands-on experience in business intelligence, data modeling, and reporting within a professional manufacturing environment. You will work closely with our data team to convert manual processes into streamlined reports while gaining exposure to cloud-based analytics tools.
What you'll do#
- Create and update business intelligence reports using Power BI and Excel.
- Collect and organize data from various business sources.
- Write simple SQL queries and Python scripts to support data tasks.
- Document business requirements and assist in building basic data models.
- Convert manual Excel reports into automated BI dashboards.
- Perform routine data quality checks and troubleshoot minor reporting issues.
- Shadow team members to learn about Microsoft Azure services like ADF and Databricks.
- Provide end-user support for BI tools and conduct ad-hoc analysis to identify trends.
- Participate in team discussions regarding new data technologies.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualization tools.
- Introductory knowledge of SQL and relational database systems, ideally through coursework or projects.
- Exposure to Python or R.
- Familiarity with data warehousing, ETL processes, and Web APIs.
- Understanding of development tools like Azure DevOps.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate ideas clearly.
