About the role#
As an Electrical Engineering Co-Op, you will work under the guidance of the Electrical Engineering Manager and staff engineers to support the development of material handling products. You will contribute to the full product lifecycle, from initial design to testing and documentation, while working across departments to ensure project timelines and budgets are met.
What you'll do#
- Conceptualize and develop material handling products using sound engineering principles.
- Assist in the design and documentation of new and revised electrical circuits.
- Create and maintain CAD detail drawings, bills of material, and routings.
- Execute engineering change notices and maintain organized design documentation.
- Support vendors during the fabrication of products and sub-components.
- Design and build test fixtures and prototype units.
- Conduct functional and accelerated life tests to ensure product reliability and performance.
- Prepare test reports and provide technical assistance to internal and external customers.
- Identify and recommend new technology solutions for material handling.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 4-year Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology degree program.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to solve problems and meet tight deadlines while maintaining high quality standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with Solidworks or AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of test engineering processes and electrical test procedures is preferred.
