About the role#
GlobalFoundries is looking for Process & Equipment Engineering interns to work in our 300mm factory. You will work alongside an assigned engineer to improve factory operations and equipment performance. This is a full-time summer 2027 internship.
What you'll do#
- Reduce variability in process recovery procedures.
- Improve problem detection capabilities and enhance limit of detection (LOD).
- Lower costs associated with chemicals and qualification wafers.
- Standardize processes across similar equipment.
- Enhance techniques for measuring process performance.
- Lead improvement projects and present your findings.
- Collaborate with equipment, maintenance, and production teams.
- Follow all safety, health, and environmental programs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as at least a sophomore in a Bachelor program for Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- A minimum 3.0 overall GPA and good academic standing.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week.
- Proficiency in written and verbal English.
- Prior internship or co-op experience.
- Experience with SPC controls.
- Interest in using AI tools and emerging technologies.
- Demonstrated leadership experience and project management skills.
- Strong planning, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and understand complex automated systems.
