About the role#
GlobalFoundries is looking for Process & Equipment Engineering interns to join our 300mm factory in Malta, New York. You will work alongside an assigned engineer to improve factory operations and equipment performance. This role involves direct collaboration with technicians, managers, and production staff to solve real-world manufacturing challenges.
What you'll do#
- Reduce variability in process recovery procedures.
- Improve problem detection and detection limits.
- Lower costs associated with chemicals and qualification wafers.
- Standardize processes across similar equipment.
- Enhance techniques used to measure process performance.
- Lead improvement projects and present your findings.
- Work with equipment and maintenance teams.
- Follow all safety, health, and security protocols.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as at least a sophomore in a Bachelor’s program for Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- A minimum 3.0 overall GPA and good academic standing.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work at least 40 hours per week.
- Preferred: Prior internship or co-op experience.
- Preferred: Interest in AI tools and emerging technologies.
- Preferred: Leadership experience, project management skills, and SPC Controls experience.
- Preferred: Strong planning, organizational, and communication skills.
