About the role#
This internship offers the opportunity to work within the Body Center of General Motors manufacturing operations. You will contribute to the development and implementation of manufacturing technologies, equipment, and workflows. The role focuses on optimizing how people, materials, and machines interact to produce vehicles.
What you'll do#
- Develop and validate manufacturing processes and sequences of operations.
- Evaluate ergonomic and human factors in manufacturing workflows.
- Collaborate with suppliers to select materials for the paint shop.
- Evaluate weld quality and joining techniques.
- Develop additive manufacturing processes and solutions.
- Support new product program launches and continuous process improvements.
What you'll need#
- Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or Civil Engineering.
- Graduation date between December 2027 and June 2029.
- Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week, during the summer months.
- Willingness to work in a plant environment and work any shift, including weekends.
