About the role#
The Effector RF Design Department at Raytheon is seeking an Antenna Design Engineer Intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will work within a multi-discipline team to support the development of RF products, including antennas, RF couplers, and test equipment. This is a full-time, on-site internship based in Tucson, Arizona. You will have access to technical mentors and opportunities to shadow experienced professionals.
What you'll do#
- Develop antenna or radome hardware and requirements.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary engineering teams, including thermal, structural, mechanical, and systems groups.
- Work directly with antenna manufacturing suppliers.
- Execute antenna modeling and simulation using workstations and high performance computing resources.
- Analyze simulation and measurement test data to verify performance against requirements.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, or Computer Engineering, or Physics.
- Completion of at least 60 credit hours by the start of the internship.
- Proficiency with modeling and simulation tools such as HFSS, CST, FEKO, SENTRi, or GRASP.
- Experience or coursework in communication theory, microwave theory, or electromagnetic and wave theory.
- Ability to obtain an interim U.S. government Secret security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required.
