About the role#
This internship provides experience in finance controllership at General Motors. You will work with diverse teams across the company to support business operations and help solve significant financial issues. The role is designed to provide the work experience necessary for those pursuing a CPA license.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with global teams to gather data, perform financial analysis, and present recommendations to senior executives.
- Participate in activities focused on the design, build, sell, and service operations of the company.
- Consolidate and report company results while analyzing transactions for proper accounting treatment.
- Serve as a strategic partner to improve efficiency, increase transparency, and shorten decision cycles.
- Attend networking events with peers and senior finance leaders.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- Graduation date between October 2027 and June 2028.
- Ability to work full time, 40 hours per week, during the summer of 2027.
- Strong analytical skills and fundamental knowledge of corporate finance.
- Interest in or active pursuit of a CPA license is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and solve complex problems.

- Location: Warren, Michigan.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: Hybrid, with a minimum of three days per week on-site.
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
