About the role#
As a Manufacturing Controls Engineer Intern, you will provide electrical support and controls engineering for industrial manufacturing equipment. You will work directly with maintenance personnel to operate and maintain specialized machinery. This role focuses on electrical root cause analysis, problem solving, and providing technical guidance to support teams on the plant floor. Safety is the highest priority, and you will be responsible for enforcing safe work practices and implementing health and ergonomics objectives.
What you'll do#
- Lead electrical projects, including new installations and operational improvements.
- Program manufacturing technology, including PLC, robotics, and HMI systems.
- Analyze products, processes, and technology to determine efficient manufacturing methods.
- Use statistical methods to drive continuous improvement on plant systems.
- Assist in the design and building of tools or recommend improvements to existing processes.
- Participate in plant meetings to represent engineering and support performance goals.
- Develop project schedules, cost estimates, and business cases for minor project activity.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Controls Engineering.
- Expected graduation date between August 2027 and June 2029.
- Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Willingness to work in a plant environment.
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, and lift up to 40 pounds.
- Capability to work in non-climate controlled manufacturing areas with varying noise levels.

- This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship for Summer 2027.
