About the role#
This internship is a 10-week summer program based in Bossier City, Louisiana. You will work in a hybrid capacity alongside GDIT professionals to deliver services for clients. The role is full-time and paid. You will join a team of peers to propose solutions to business challenges, interact with company leaders, and participate in a mentoring circle led by an early career champion.
What you'll do#
- Develop agentic solutions to answer business questions and perform approved actions.
- Create standalone proxy services for front-end management of LLM implementation.
- Build and maintain scalable APIs and microservices.
- Perform data cleaning, wrangling, transformation, model selection, cross-validation, and deployment.
- Measure model performance, conduct validation testing, and troubleshoot errors or bias.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an associate's, bachelor's, or master's degree program in computer science, IT, engineering, or a related STEM field at a United States-based university.
- A minimum of one semester of study remaining after the internship concludes.
- Foundational knowledge of machine learning and data science concepts, including exploratory analysis and statistical methods.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, or other programming languages.
- Familiarity with libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn.
- Experience working in a collaborative team environment.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office products.
