About the role#
This internship supports the Hot Gas Path (HGP) Value Engineering team. You will focus on improving safety, quality, delivery, and cost for gas turbine components like blades, nozzles, and shrouds. You will work across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to optimize product value and lifecycle costs.
What you'll do#
- Assist senior engineers with design optimization, repair strategies, and capacity improvements.
- Gather and analyze data related to manufacturing, field execution, and supplier performance to support business cases.
- Track project schedules, milestones, risks, and financial metrics using reporting systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sourcing, Quality, and Field Services to implement improvements.
- Participate in value engineering workshops, cost-out sessions, and continuous improvement events.
- Prepare project reviews, stakeholder updates, and process documentation.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or a related technical field.
- Sophomore standing or higher with at least one academic term remaining after the assignment.
- Ability to work full-time for the duration of the internship.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, or Power BI.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and communicate findings clearly.
- Interest in power generation, gas turbine technology, and cost analysis.
- Familiarity with project management, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma is a plus.
- Ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information.
