About the role#
GE Vernova is hiring an intern to join the DERMS team. You will support the implementation and integration of Distributed Energy Resource Management System solutions for utility customers. This role is for a student interested in electricity networks, grid management, and software implementation. You will work alongside solution architects, software engineers, and utility experts to help utilities manage distributed and digital power systems.
What you'll do#
- Support the integration, configuration, and implementation of DERMS solutions.
- Assist with the testing of interfaces between DERMS and external systems.
- Support software deployment, configuration management, and release activities.
- Help troubleshoot integration issues across application and network boundaries.
- Develop an understanding of how DERMS interacts with existing utility platforms like ADMS, SCADA, and GIS.
- Assist with system integration testing and defect investigation.
- Help analyze technical requirements and translate them into implementation activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Previous internship or vacation work within a utility or energy organization.
- Demonstrated interest in electricity grids and utility operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with engineers and software specialists.
- Willingness to learn complex technical and utility-domain concepts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
