About the role#
GE Vernova is looking for a graduate student to join the team as a GridOS Project Engineer. This internship focuses on the application of Artificial Intelligence and Large Language Models to improve how electric utility networks are validated and diagnosed. You will help build the next generation of intelligent model management solutions used by utilities worldwide.
What you'll do#
- Analyze large-scale power system model validation and diagnostic logs.
- Develop AI and LLM-based approaches to detect, classify, and prioritize modeling issues.
- Investigate network model inconsistencies to determine root causes.
- Build intelligent workflows that suggest or prescribe corrective actions for model remediation.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and customers to ensure the reliable operation of advanced distribution capabilities.
- Design prompt engineering, retrieval, or agentic solutions using modern LLM technologies.
- Document research findings and present results to engineering leadership.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a B.S. or M.S. program in Electrical Engineering (with a Power Systems specialization) or Computer Science.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or 4.0 on a 5.0 scale.
- Programming experience in Python and data analytics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.

- Locations: Bellevue, Washington or Atlanta, Georgia.
- Modality: Hybrid (2 days in office, 3 days remote).
- Status: Full-time internship.
