About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to work with senior engineers on electrical systems for surgical imaging solutions, specifically OEC C-arms. You will join cross-functional teams to contribute to the design, development, and manufacturing of complex medical hardware throughout the product lifecycle.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the design and analysis of power distribution, embedded systems, motion control, and networking components.
- Perform power distribution analysis, including power budgets and test verification.
- Execute electrical simulations and design printed circuit boards and electrical components.
- Develop interconnect and cable designs.
- Conduct verification and validation of electrical designs, including support for engineering builds and testing.
- Perform reliability and failure analysis on electrical and electromechanical components.
- Prepare and present design analysis reports and participate in drawing reviews.
- Support manufacturing and lean initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent degree program.
- Completion of at least your sophomore year.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Ability to work full time for at least 10 weeks during the summer.
- Willingness to relocate to Salt Lake City, Utah.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
