About the role#
The Social Media Engineering Intern will join the team at the intersection of engineering, design, and digital content. This role involves creating stories that showcase 3D printing technology and the projects created by our community. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of video content, from initial pitch to final publication.
What you'll do#
- Own social video projects from pitch to publish, including filming, editing, and distributing content.
- Operate independently to manage quick-turn stories while collaborating with the broader marketing team.
- Showcase physical parts, prints, and engineering projects in visual ways that resonate with a diverse audience of makers.
- Support reporting and analytics to measure content performance and optimize future strategies.
- Spot real-time social trends and viral audio to translate them into relevant content.
What you'll need#
- Hands-on experience with video editing software such as Premiere, DaVinci, or Final Cut.
- A technical mindset with experience in 3D design, CAD, or 3D printing.
- A strong understanding of digital platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines as a self-starter.
- Enrollment or background in fields such as Communications, Graphic Design, Media Studies, Marketing, Art, Computer Science, Industrial Design, or Business Administration.
Location & details#
- Location: On-site in Somerville, Massachusetts.
- Term: Fall 2026 (September 14 through December 18, 2026).
- Commitment: Full-time (40 hours per week).
- Compensation: This is a paid, salaried position with a bi-weekly pay range of $1,050 to $1,400 USD.
