    About the role#

    We are looking for a highly motivated Co-Op to join our Analytical Development team within the Technical Operations organization. This is a hands-on laboratory role for a student excited about benchwork and gaining real-world experience in biotech analytical development. You will work closely with experienced scientists to analyze and characterize biologics, using industry-standard tools while contributing directly to active development programs.

    What you'll do#

    • Learn and apply laboratory separation techniques, including HPLC/UPLC and capillary electrophoresis, to assess product quality.
    • Perform biochemical and biophysical assays, such as ELISA, SEC-MALS, and DLS, to characterize different molecule types.
    • Assist in developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting lab methods and analytical workflows.
    • Run tests to measure concentration, purity, identity, stability, and other critical quality attributes.
    • Prepare samples, buffers, reagents, and mobile phases.
    • Maintain detailed and accurate experimental records in lab notebooks or electronic systems.
    • Analyze and interpret data, summarize results for the team, and participate in scientific discussions.
    • Follow all lab safety protocols and complete required safety training.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related field.
    • Strong interest in analytical development and drug development.
    • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple tasks.
    • Excited to work at the bench and learn new instrumentation.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Team-oriented and collaborative approach to work.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

    • Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts.
    • Term: Winter 2027 (January 2027 to June 2027).
    • Modality: On-site, full-time (40 hours per week).
    • Eligibility: This position is open exclusively to current Northeastern University Co-Op students.
