About the role#
Serif Biomedicines is seeking an Immunology Co-Op to join our therapeutic discovery team. This position is open exclusively to current Northeastern University students. You will work on developing and executing in vitro assays on primary human T cells and analyzing therapeutic candidates in humanized mouse models. This is a full-time, 40-hour per week role based on-site in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
What you'll do#
- Isolate primary immune cells from leukopak and manage inventory.
- Culture mammalian cells and perform gene delivery via transfection.
- Execute in vitro assays to evaluate immune cell function, including multi-color flow cytometry and cytotoxicity assays.
- Conduct ex vivo analysis of immune cells through tissue processing and downstream assays.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a MS in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Bioengineering, Immunology, or a related field.
- Experience with cell culture and aseptic technique.
- Competence with Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- You are detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable working with highly technical projects.
- Experience with immune cells and a general understanding of immunology is highly preferred.
- Experience with flow cytometry or ex vivo mouse model sample processing is preferred.
- A background in cell biology, ideally T cell biology, is ideal.

- Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts.
- Term: January 2027 to June 2027.
- Work Modality: On-site, 5 days per week.
- Compensation: $25 to $35 per hour.
- This is a paid, full-time position.
