About the role#
This is a full-time, paid summer internship based at our Hillsboro manufacturing site. You will join our commercial drug product and finished goods team for 12 weeks. You will work on business-critical projects under the guidance of a manager and present your findings to senior leadership at the end of the program.
What you'll do#
Your daily work will focus on one or more of the following areas:
- Process and Asset Engineering: Monitor performance, troubleshoot equipment, and apply Lean Manufacturing tools to reduce waste.
- Manufacturing Academy: Drive business process improvements and integrate virtual reality and augmented reality tools into training simulations.
- Quality and Compliance: Support raw material and drug product testing, monitor aseptic controls, ensure cGMP compliance, and assist in technical investigations.
- Tech Transfer: Support technical development for new equipment introductions and process changes.
- Aseptic Systems: Apply scientific principles to improve filling lines, inspection, packaging, and sterilization systems.
- Data Analytics: Use data collection and analytics to identify trends and present project recommendations via oral and poster presentations.
What you'll need#
- Education: You must be pursuing or have recently attained (within 2 years) an Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's degree.
- Majors: Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Biomedical, Industrial), Computer Science, Bioscience Technology, or a related technical field.
- Skills: Interest in process monitoring, Lean Manufacturing, data analytics, and root-cause troubleshooting.
- Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to work across functions and meet project deadlines.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with presentation tools like PowerPoint or Google Slides and a baseline understanding of cGMP standards, quality assurance, or aseptic processing.
Location & details#
- Location: Hillsboro, Oregon (on-site).
- Term: Summer 2027 (starting between May and June).
- Compensation: $25.00 - $52.00 per hour, plus paid holiday time off.
- Note: Relocation benefits are not available for this position.
