About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship with the Quality Control team in Hillsboro. You will work as a business analyst to support continuous improvement initiatives. The goal is to deliver performance gains and increase efficiency across the laboratory. This is an on-site position lasting six months starting in May or June 2027.
What you'll do#
- Participate in QC Improvement meetings and support Structured Problem Solving initiatives to address performance challenges.
- Attend daily cross-functional meetings to help the team meet goals for product testing, environmental testing, and equipment validation.
- Collect and analyze process data to better understand QC capacity.
- Build tools and dashboards to visualize key performance indicators and identify trends.
- Map workflows to identify waste and find new improvement opportunities.
- Support 5S and Lean initiatives, including material flow and daily huddle tools.
What you'll need#
- You must be pursuing or have already attained a Bachelor's degree, Master's degree, or PhD in Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- Experience in Quality Control, Process Development, Manufacturing, Engineering, or Technical Services.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to find inefficiencies.
- A systematic approach to problem-solving.
- Understanding of project management principles.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for documenting findings and presenting data.
- Knowledge of Lean, Agile, or the Toyota Production System is preferred.
- Familiarity with cGMP regulations or experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry is a plus.
