About the role#
This internship focuses on studying plasma sputtered coatings and their impact on perovskite solar device performance. You will work alongside development engineers to conduct research and contribute to technical projects. At the end of the term, you will present your findings and project summary to the leadership team.
What you'll do#
- Assist with coating process development.
- Conduct sensitivity studies on process KPIs related to coating properties.
- Analyze the interaction between interfaces and subsequent wet coatings.
- Evaluate the effects on solar device efficiency and stability.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Physics, Environmental Engineering, or Biology.
- A background in material science or chemical engineering is preferred.
- Knowledge of material surface engineering, plasma deposition, and thin film technologies.
- Experience in a lab environment using materials analysis technologies.
- Familiarity with thin film and nano material analysis, including optic and chemical characterization.
- Ability to work independently and hands-on.
- Perovskite solar cell device fabrication experience is a plus.

- Location: Perrysburg, Ohio.
- Term: Fall 2026 (August through December).
- Modality: On-site, full-time.
- Compensation: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour.
