About the role#
The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco is seeking Technical Interns for the Summer 2027 program. This is a 10.5-week paid internship designed to provide students with professional experience through mission-driven work. Interns will work within teams such as Banking Supervision, Statistics + Reserves, Information Technology Services, Federal Reserve Financial Services, and Operations & Safety.
What you'll do#
- Use computer programming and data analytics to contribute to projects, solutions, and deliverables.
- Collaborate with managers and team members on assignments that support the Bank's mission.
- Gain exposure to organizational processes and influence innovation, solutions, and efficiency.
- Participate in orientation, training, and professional development activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited college or university.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2029.
- Academic background in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or Computer Engineering.
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency status.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and an interest in public service.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week for the full 10.5-week duration.
Location & details#
- This role is based on-site in San Francisco, California.
- Interns must be available to work 5 days per week in the office.
- The internship is a full-time commitment for the duration of the program.
- Compensation ranges from $21.00 to $36.00 per hour, depending on the position and experience.
