About the role#
The Research & Statistics Group at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York conducts academic research and provides analysis on monetary policy, banking supervision, and financial systems. As a junior intern, you will contribute to this mission through a ten-week program designed to build professional skills and provide insight into public service.
What you'll do#
- Assist economists and research associates with the analysis of current public policy issues and events.
- Support long-term, academically oriented research projects.
- Conduct econometric analyses for Bank publications and academic journals.
- Collaborate with team members and participate in cohort-based learning activities.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate student with an expected graduation date between Winter 2027 and Spring 2028.
- Demonstrated interest in economics, public policy, mathematics, statistics, finance, accounting, or business administration.
- Strong academic record.
- Experience with data analysis, handling large databases, and using statistical packages such as R, Stata, Matlab, or Python.
- Ability to communicate complex economic analysis clearly in written and verbal forms.
- Capability to work both independently and within a team environment.

- Compensation: Paid position based on an annual salary of $72,100.
