About the role#
The Supervision, Regulation, and Credit (SRC) department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond is hiring for the 2027 Summer Internship Program. This role provides an opportunity to explore supervision business lines and gain hands-on experience with the supervisory process. Interns will work on-site in Richmond, Virginia, to develop business skills and understand the Federal Reserve's role in overseeing financial institutions.
What you'll do#
- Rotate through three different supervision business lines.
- Participate in an examination at the Federal Reserve Bank or a state member bank.
- Communicate findings and conclusions of supervisory activities to senior management and examination staff.
- Handle highly sensitive and confidential information with responsibility.
- Observe and contribute to relevant meetings to gain an overview of department operations.
- Take part in a bank simulation exercise.
- Collaborate with other interns to create and deliver a presentation to the SRC department.
- Participate in foundational learning, professional development activities, and complete a final project.
- Develop a relationship with a mentor.
What you'll need#
- Status as a rising senior.
- A minimum 3.3 GPA.
- An emphasis in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Strong project management skills, including planning, organization, and execution.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
- Intellectual curiosity and a willingness to ask questions.
- U.S. citizenship or status as a permanent resident/Green Card holder who is an intending citizen.
