    About the role#

    The Sophomore Career Exploration Internship at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York offers undergraduate students the opportunity to gain professional experience through a ten-week, project-based program. Interns join a cohort-based learning model, receive support from an experienced mentor, and engage in professional development activities. This role is based in the Communications and Outreach Group, which focuses on disseminating information and developing programming for external audiences.

    What you'll do#

    • Perform literature reviews and conduct research on topics related to community development, such as health, resiliency, and household financial well-being.
    • Contribute to thought leadership and support strategies regarding anti-poverty policy and practice.
    • Compile and analyze large datasets for use in internal presentations and external engagements.
    • Build relationships with collaborators, including nonprofits, researchers, financial institutions, and government agencies, to enhance cooperation.

    What you'll need#

    • Current undergraduate sophomore status.
    • An interest in community development and place-based initiatives.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Excel, Word) and Acrobat.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • The ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
    • Preferred majors include Communications, Economics, Public Health, Sociology, or Political Science.

    • Compensation: This is a paid internship based on an annual salary of $65,600.
