About the role#
As an Accounting Intern on our Controllers team, you will support finance functions in operational accounting, reporting, internal controls, and risk management. This 10-week program runs from June 7, 2027, to August 13, 2027. You will gain hands-on experience by contributing to projects that impact housing finance.
What you'll do#
- Execute accounting and financial operations processes and related controls.
- Analyze accounting results using reports to explain financial activities.
- Gather, document, and maintain financial information from various sources.
- Perform analytics and reporting on business and financial data to provide insights and make projections.
- Interact and collaborate with finance and business partners to solve problems.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting with an expected graduation date of Spring 2028.
- Accounting major or minor in your current degree program.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Strong business acumen, results focus, and a self-starter mindset.

- This is an on-site role based in Washington, D.C., or Reston, VA.
- The position is full-time for the Summer 2027 term.
- The pay rate is $33.00 per hour.
