About the role#
This 10-week summer internship runs from June 7, 2027, to August 13, 2027. You will work on-site at the Fannie Mae office in Washington, DC. Participants earn $41.50 per hour and gain exposure to credit risk management and housing finance through hands-on projects.
What you'll do#
- Research open-ended questions to support credit risk management capabilities.
- Complete an individual project that culminates in a final presentation to your division.
- Participate in hackathons focused on topics like Geospatial Analysis and Logistic Regression.
- Develop a prototype model to identify risk indicators for property quality.
- Complete training in business knowledge, SQL, Python, R, and internal data platforms.
What you'll need#
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program with an expected graduation date of Spring 2028.
- A preferred GPA of 3.2 or higher.
- Academic background in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Physics, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Exposure to programming languages such as R, Python, and SQL.
- Comfort with technology applications and a willingness to learn new tools.
