About the role#
This is a full-time co-op position for Winter 2027 based in Westwood, Massachusetts. You will join the Substation Design Engineering team to support the design and operation of electrical transmission and distribution systems. This role provides hands-on exposure to the energy industry through collaboration with senior engineering staff.
What you'll do#
- Work directly with a design engineer on project design packages.
- Perform minor equipment layout and drawing reviews.
- Manage material take-offs and order materials using procurement software.
- Assist with AS-built tracking and completion.
- Conduct voltage drop calculations for power systems.
- Help design engineers with station battery sizing calculations.
- Complete various engineering studies related to transmission and distribution systems.
- Participate in Emergency Restoration assignments as needed.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a B.S.E.E., M.S.E.E., or an energy-related M.S. engineering program with an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering.
- A strong interest in energy delivery networks or renewable energy.
- Proficiency with the MS Office suite.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work independently and contribute your own ideas.
- A willingness to learn quickly.
