About the role#
The Student Nurse Internship Program at Essentia Health in Fargo provides a bridge between nursing education and professional practice. This paid, skill-based role allows students to gain hands-on clinical experience while working under the direct supervision of a licensed Registered Nurse. You will work within hospital and ambulatory care settings to build clinical competence and professional identity.
What you'll do#
- Provide clinical care while supervised by a licensed Registered Nurse.
- Participate in RN preceptorships and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Develop clinical skills across various hospital and ambulatory care units.
- Function within an established student scope of practice while following facility policies and regulatory standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited BSN or ADN nursing program.
- Completion of your junior year of a Bachelor’s program or two clinical semesters of an Associates program.
- Graduation date no later than May 2028.
- Enrollment and active participation in an approved internship co-operative course for the summer semester.
- Ability to commit to 30-36 hours per week, with adjustments available for students carrying summer course loads.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification, which must be obtained within one month of hire and remain valid throughout the internship.
