About the role#
As a Software Engineering Intern within the Test and Measurement business unit, you will gain exposure to the full product development cycle. You will work on projects that contribute to business success, ranging from development tools and compiler design to graphical user interfaces, kernel-level drivers, and embedded systems. This position is a full-time, paid opportunity based in Austin, Texas.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to the bottom line success of the Test and Measurement unit.
- Develop user-mode and kernel-mode driver components or firmware for embedded processors and FPGAs.
- Work with high-level programming languages, including C++, C, C#, and Python.
- Utilize various operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and real-time operating systems.
- Interface with high-speed bus architectures like PCIExpress, PCI, Ethernet, and USB.
- Manage your time effectively and engage with mentors to drive project progress.
- Collaborate within a group to diagnose technical issues and propose solutions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program for computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, engineering physics, mechatronics, physics, or software engineering.
- Class standing of sophomore or above, with a preference for rising juniors and seniors.
- Foundational understanding of computers, software design, and architecture principles.
- Exposure to high-level programming languages such as C++, C, or C#.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
- Knowledge of data structures, operating system components, and computer bus architectures is preferred.
