About the role#
As a Firmware Test Intern, you will join our firmware test team to work on industrial automation products. You will work in a lab environment alongside experienced engineers, applying your academic knowledge to real-world hardware and software testing. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mequon, Wisconsin.
What you'll do#
- Design and develop scripts to automate test procedures.
- Execute manual and automated tests to verify product functionality.
- Document test procedures and create detailed test reports.
- Assist with lab audits and improvement activities.
- Resolve and document technical exceptions and questions.
- Help build and commission test firmware and hardware platforms.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a similar field at an accredited university.
- Expected graduation date of December 2027 or later, with at least one semester of school remaining after the internship concludes.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Ability to work on-site in the greater Milwaukee area (within 50 miles of the Mequon location).
- Basic programming skills in C++, C#, Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Foundational knowledge of circuit theory, including microprocessors, digital logic, analog or DC-power conversion, and programmable devices like FPGAs or CPLDs.
- Experience with power electronics, motors, design capture tools, and reading schematic drawings.
- Familiarity with tools such as CAD, Creoparametric, ERP systems, SAP, or Matlab.
- Exposure to industrial automation environments, including PLC or drives programming and Agile methodology.
