About the role#
Emerson is hiring an Embedded Software Co-op to join our team in Marshalltown, Iowa. This is a paid, full-time position focused on our Fisher branded product line. You will work on-site for an 8-month term during Winter, Summer, or Fall 2027. You must have legal authorization to work in the United States, as we do not provide sponsorship for this role.
What you'll do#
- Work with the firmware team to interpret requirements and design, document, and implement validations.
- Collaborate with project team members to deliver features that are tested and documented.
- Design, assemble, and maintain test fixtures.
- Manage project and product documentation according to company standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program, preferably in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- Programming experience in C#, C++, or similar object-oriented languages.
- Ability to understand basic mechanical, pneumatic, and electronic systems.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with software test methods, continuous integration tools, distributed version control, or ARM embedded processor platforms is a plus.
