About the role#
This co-op role focuses on software development projects centered on AI. You will build AI-powered solutions designed to improve software quality, security, delivery speed, and overall engineering efficiency. Throughout the program, you will collaborate with software engineers, architects, and engineering leaders on projects that support enterprise-scale industrial automation. You will be assigned a mentor to guide your work and will have the opportunity to participate in company networking events.
What you'll do#
- Build software applications, services, and integrations using current engineering practices and AI technologies.
- Participate in the full development life cycle, including system design, agile methodology, test-driven development, and test automation.
- Manage build and configuration processes within development teams.
- Gain hands-on experience with modern development environments and techniques.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's or advanced degree program at an accredited college or university, preferably in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
- Availability to work full-time for 6-8 months, specifically from January to August 2027 or June to December 2027.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Go, Kotlin, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Familiarity with web frameworks like Angular or React.
- Interest in AI concepts including Generative AI, LLMs, machine learning, and prompt engineering.
- Exposure to cloud-native technologies, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps tools.
- An interest in industrial automation, PLC development, and manufacturing technologies.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time position with an hourly rate of $20-32, depending on skills and experience.
- The role follows a hybrid work schedule based in either Mayfield Heights, Ohio, or Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
- Employees are expected to work on-site at a Rockwell location on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
