About the role#
Emergent is hiring a Community Manager Intern in San Francisco to work with our Community Lead and Head of Marketing. You will run the systems behind our events and online community while helping scale our global ambassador program. This is a hands-on role with ownership from your first week. You will be in the room for how a community-led AI company grows, both in person at SF events and across our online channels.
What you'll do#
- Build and manage Luma event pages, track RSVPs, and run check-in and on-site logistics for SF events, workshops, and mixers.
- Help run Discord and Facebook groups by welcoming new members, answering questions, and keeping conversations healthy.
- Respond to member support requests across channels and flag standout builders, stories, and use cases.
- Record product walkthroughs and demos, and co-host livestreams or builder interviews.
- Keep community trackers and dashboards current for event attendance, signups, and engagement.
- Source, screen, and interview ambassador candidates as we expand to new cities.
- Onboard new city leads and support them through their first events.
- Curate and maintain our global events playbook by turning successful strategies into templates and checklists.
- Track ambassador events worldwide to keep quality consistent as the program scales.
- Capture photos, clips, and stories at SF events.
What you'll need#
- Genuine interest in AI, startups, and small business, with curiosity about how non-technical people build with AI.
- Experience as a builder, such as having coded fun apps or sites.
- Comfort on camera for walkthroughs, livestreams, or interviews.
- Strong, friendly writing skills and clear communication on calls.
- Organizational skills and reliability in keeping trackers current.
- A process-oriented mindset to turn event experiences into repeatable checklists.
- People-oriented personality, comfortable on your feet at events to welcome attendees and solve problems.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
- You must be able to work in person at our HQ.
- The term is rolling.
