About the role#
Emergent is seeking a Community Manager Intern to join our team in San Francisco. This role involves working directly with the Community Lead and Head of Marketing to manage event operations, support our online community, and scale our global ambassador program. You will have hands-on ownership of projects from your first week, balancing time between in-person events and digital community management.
What you'll do#
- Build and manage Luma event pages, including copy, registration, and reminders.
- Manage on-site logistics, check-in processes, and event attendance tracking for local workshops and mixers.
- Oversee day-to-day activity in Discord and Facebook groups by welcoming members, answering questions, and routing product issues.
- Respond to community members across channels with speed and warmth.
- Capture photos, video clips, and stories at events to highlight community use cases.
- Source, screen, and interview candidates for our global ambassador program.
- Onboard new city leads by providing playbooks, setting up communication channels, and managing event calendars.
- Maintain and improve the global events playbook to ensure consistent quality across international chapters.
What you'll need#
- A genuine interest in AI, startups, and small business.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to maintain an engaging, friendly tone.
- Comfort appearing on camera for livestreams, product walkthroughs, or builder interviews.
- Highly organized and reliable, with the ability to manage multiple timelines and keep data trackers current.
- A people-oriented mindset and the ability to thrive in an active, in-person event environment.
- Proficiency or the ability to quickly learn tools such as Luma, Discord, Facebook Groups, Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, Canva, CapCut, or OBS.
- Currently pursuing or holding a degree in Business Administration, Communications, or Media Studies.
