About the role#
We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager Intern to join our team in Madison. You will gain hands-on experience in mechanical contracting and construction management. This role involves working directly with project managers on cost control, scheduling, document management, and quality assurance. You will be involved in the construction process from procurement to field coordination.
What you'll do#
- Set up job folders and pull job numbers with current documentation.
- Generate purchase orders and subcontracts after the award phase.
- Create and maintain logs for change orders and submittals.
- Process permits and booking sheets.
- Work with the Superintendent to develop and update project schedules.
- Assist with small project estimating, vendor coordination, and attending job site meetings.
- Track project costs, billing, and profitability metrics.
- Review subcontractor proposals and identify equipment sources.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate program in engineering, design, project management, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A detail-oriented, self-motivated, and results-driven approach.
- A problem-solving mindset with the ability to prioritize and take initiative.
