About the role#
The Project Intern will support the project team with coordinating information for commercial HVAC and plumbing projects. This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027 based on-site in Manchaca, Texas.
What you'll do#
- Support the Project Manager in driving the project flow from inception to completion.
- Assist with document control tasks, including insurance, bonding, permits, submittals, RFI’s, change orders, and correspondence.
- Verify that the correct drawings are distributed to the field.
- Coordinate with field personnel to ensure QA/QC documentation is completed and submitted.
- Gather information for changes in work and turnover to estimating for pricing.
- Assist field personnel with project closeout.
- Escalate critical issues to the Project Manager with recommendations for resolution.
What you'll need#
- A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Construction Science, or a related field, either completed or in progress.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work efficiently and build positive relationships with employees, management, and suppliers.
- Familiarity with project management or document control software, such as Autodesk Forma, MS Project, or Bluebeam, is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Manchaca, Texas.
- Modality: This position is on-site and requires the ability to commute to and navigate around job site locations.
- Work environment: You will work in both an office setting and at project sites. You may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, dust, and noise levels that vary from moderate to loud.
