About the role#
Ecolab is hiring Research and Development Engineering Interns for the Summer 2027 program. This 11-week, full-time, paid internship supports our business units by focusing on new product development, application commercialization, and process engineering. You will gain exposure to the full product lifecycle, from initial ideation to manufacturing and post-launch support.
What you'll do#
- Perform research, design, and testing for product improvement and development of new and existing products, chemical dispensing systems, and control systems.
- Test, evaluate, and analyze formulations and systems to prove performance and reliability.
- Identify and evaluate technologies to advance product performance.
- Ensure compliance with design criteria and standards.
- Design experiments to understand the dynamics of chemical processes and formulations.
- Participate in the design and development of new chemical dispensers, control systems, and embedded circuit board designs.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- Anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or May/June 2028.
- Demonstrated project leadership skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Locations: Eagan, Minnesota, and Naperville, Illinois.
- Term: Summer 2027 (11-week program starting June 1, 2027).
- Modality: Hybrid.
