About the role#
This internship offers students the chance to gain hands-on experience within the Environmental, Health, and Safety Department. You will support essential monitoring and compliance tasks that contribute to our environmental management goals. This is a full-time, paid position for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Support data analysis and prepare bottles to help interpret and report environmental data.
- Work on projects focused on environmental governance and compliance.
- Collaborate with various teams across the Environmental, Health, and Safety Department.
- Assist staff with lab procedures that support Duke Energy facilities.
- Conduct fieldwork, which may involve working in varying weather conditions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s program for Environmental Science, Geology, Biology, Chemistry, Natural Sciences, Ecology, or a closely related field.
- A cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
- Graduation date no earlier than August 2027.
- Proficiency in data analysis, environmental monitoring techniques, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without sponsorship.

- Locations: Huntersville, NC; New Hill, NC; and Southport, NC.
- Work modality: Hybrid and on-site.
- This position does not offer visa sponsorship.
