About the role#
This internship offers students the chance to gain practical experience in project management within the utility sector. You will work on real capital projects, contributing to cost, schedule, and communications management. The role focuses on ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget through data analysis and performance reporting. You will take ownership of specific deliverables that impact the business and participate in team activities.
What you'll do#
- Assist with managing a portfolio of capital projects.
- Engage in cost, schedule, and communications management.
- Perform risk management and quality assurance for project scheduling.
- Generate reports to monitor and manage project performance.

What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year degree program in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
- A cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
- Experience with data analytics.
- Previous experience in project management controls.
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) during the summer.
- Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

- Location: Charlotte, North Carolina.
- Term: Summer 2027 (10-12 weeks).
- Work Modality: Hybrid, requiring residency within a reasonable commute to the facility.
- Travel: Potential for 5-15% travel to project locations.
