About the role#
As an Electrical Instrumentation and Controls Engineering Intern, you will support the design, analysis, testing, and implementation of electrical systems for a uranium enrichment facility. You will work alongside experienced engineers on projects spanning facility power systems, instrumentation, automation, and controls. This role involves the full engineering lifecycle, from concept development to testing and implementation.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design, analysis, and evaluation of electrical systems, ranging from low-voltage DC circuits to high-voltage three-phase power distribution.
- Support the development of instrumentation and control systems used throughout the facility.
- Contribute to electrical system documentation, including schematics, specifications, wiring diagrams, and design packages.
- Participate in component selection, prototyping, hardware bring-up, debugging, and validation testing.
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, software, manufacturing, chemical, and nuclear engineers to solve technical problems.
- Learn engineering design processes while receiving mentorship on projects.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate or graduate student status in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- A strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals.
- Coursework or project experience in electrical power systems, instrumentation and controls, circuit design, embedded systems, or power electronics.
- Ability to solve technical problems using first-principles thinking.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively on multidisciplinary teams.

- Compensation: $30 to $40 per hour, depending on academic standing.
