About the role#
General Matter is looking for an Architectural Engineering Intern to join the Buildings team in Los Angeles. You will work with engineers and project teams on large-scale industrial and nuclear infrastructure projects, including our uranium enrichment facility. This role focuses on integrated building systems design, multidisciplinary coordination, and construction planning.
What you'll do#
- Support structural and mechanical design work for large-scale industrial projects.
- Prepare integrated drawings and technical documentation.
- Coordinate layouts within the building envelope to optimize space and functionality.
- Create high-fidelity BIM models using Revit to integrate multidisciplinary designs.
- Assist engineering teams with constructability reviews and design updates.
- Participate in design reviews and project coordination meetings to resolve technical issues.
- Help address field design questions and Requests for Information during construction.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior or Senior or recent completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Architectural, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Proficiency in Revit.
- A foundational understanding of how structural and mechanical systems interact within a facility.
- Interest or experience in visual programming like Dynamo or Grasshopper, or coding in Python.
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends as necessary.
