About the role#
As a Health, Safety, and Environment Intern, you will join our team at the Elanco manufacturing plant in Elwood, Kansas. This internship takes place during the summer of 2027. You will work on hands-on projects that focus on injury prevention, environmental initiatives, and building a strong safety culture. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Learn the safety and environmental requirements specific to pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement a project focused on hazard assessment and control.
- Provide daily support for safety initiatives that promote an injury-free workplace.
- Participate in coaching and safety activities across the site.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Management, or a related safety field.
- Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
- Skill in building trust and mutual respect with team members.
- Familiarity with industrial hygiene principles and workplace safety practices.
- Ability to assess workplace exposures and identify potential health and safety risks.

- Location: Elwood, Kansas.
- Work Modality: This role is on-site.
- Travel: Expect 10% travel to our corporate facility in Indianapolis, Indiana, for the start and end of the program.
