About the role#
The Local IT Support Internship is a summer program for community college students to gain hands-on experience in a critical energy environment. You will work at the McGuire Nuclear Station alongside technology professionals to support daily IT operations. This role involves direct interaction with station employees and exposure to enterprise technology systems within a nuclear generation facility.
What you'll do#
- Provide deskside and field support services to station employees.
- Assist with the deployment of laptops, desktops, monitors, and iPads.
- Perform computer imaging, configuration, and hardware installations.
- Troubleshoot user issues and manage technology support requests across the site.
- Contribute to special projects such as workstation refresh initiatives and large-scale desktop replacement programs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 2-year degree program in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Networking, or a related technical field.
- A cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher (3.5 or higher is preferred).
- You must not graduate before August 2027.
- Ability to work onsite at the McGuire Nuclear Station throughout the summer.
- Ability to achieve nuclear site Unescorted Access and security clearance.
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, and networking fundamentals.
- Experience or understanding of hardware components, desktop imaging, and software installation.
- Knowledge of tools like Active Directory or Microsoft Intune is a plus.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Previous technical support or internship experience is beneficial.

- Term: Summer 2027 (10-12 weeks).
- Modality: Full-time, on-site.
