About the role#
This position is for individuals with a working knowledge of the renewable energy sector. You will balance competing project factors and manage complex tasks. The role focuses on building your professional experience in negotiations, financial modeling, and energy analysis. You will work to hone your existing skills and take on more independent responsibilities over time.
What you'll do#
- Develop negotiation experience through active participation in project tasks.
- Build your expertise in financial and energy modeling.
- Refine your professional skills to work with increasing independence.
What you'll need#
- Prior internship or co-op experience with Duke Energy.
- Understanding of project economics and the levers used to optimize them.
- Knowledge of utility interconnections, land origination, and federal or state incentive programs.
- Familiarity with electricity market dynamics, pricing, and policy engagement.
- Strong financial, technical, and risk management skills.
- Fluency in financial concepts such as IRR, NPV, and the time value of money.
- Advanced skills in problem solving, project management, and written or interpersonal communication.
- Ability to drive complex projects.
- Majors in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related fields.

- Location: Raleigh, North Carolina.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Employment Type: Full time.
- Travel: 5-15% of the time, including periodic site visits.
