About the role#
As an Integrated Circuits Intern in the Silicon Architecture group, you will contribute to the design of integrated circuits throughout the full project lifecycle. This includes conceptual phases, detailed design, implementation, verification, testing, and final delivery. You will work within multidisciplinary teams to develop architectural concepts and vet them through modeling and simulation.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and enhance engineering solutions for complex customer problems.
- Perform System-on-chip (SOC) design trades between analog, digital hardware, and software implementations.
- Design and simulate circuits using functional modeling tools and at the transistor level.
- Evaluate the feasibility and cost-benefits of implementing algorithms in hardware versus software.
- Participate in top-level verification planning and contribute to test plans.
- Conduct bench-level testing and generate reports including plots, evaluation criteria, and conclusions.
- Develop design documentation such as architectural descriptions, interface definitions, and requirements.
- Complete assignments to build practical knowledge of engineering processes, facilities, and systems.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- Proficiency with Cadence or equivalent integrated circuit design tools such as Virtuoso, Genus, Innovus, Tempus, or Voltus.
- Experience or interest in high-level mixed-signal modeling and verification tools like System Verilog, SV-RNM, or Verilog-AMS.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or SKILL to automate design and test flows.
- Strong verbal and written communication, mathematical, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively in a team environment.
- Selected applicants may be required to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
