About the role#
Draper is looking for an Electrical Engineering Co-Op to join our team for the Winter 2027 term. This is a paid, full-time position based on-site in Cambridge, Massachusetts. You will work alongside engineers and technicians to support research, development, and testing of systems, hardware, and components. This role is designed to help you build practical knowledge of engineering processes, facilities, and systems.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and enhance engineering solutions for various projects.
- Assist in sustaining and improving quality processes across the engineering and manufacturing life cycle.
- Build and test hardware, systems, or components in collaboration with team members.
- Perform analysis and implement engineering solutions.
- Generate and present test reports, including plots, tables, evaluation criteria, and conclusions.
- Complete assignments to develop a deep understanding of equipment, procedures, and systems.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited electrical engineering undergraduate or graduate degree program.
- Ability to work full-time from January through June 2027.
- US citizenship.
- Strong work ethic and excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing environments and project risks.
- Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- A GPA above 3.5 is preferred.
- Experience with at least two of the following areas:
- Scripting and modeling in MATLAB, Simulink, or LabVIEW.
- Simulation tools like SPICE, CST, COMSOL, or ANSYS HFSS/SIWave.
- Digital or FPGA design tools such as Xilinx Vivado or Microsemi Libero.
- Board and chip design tool sets like Cadence, Siemens Xpedition, or KiCAD.
- Signal integrity, layout, and grounding design principles.
- Digital signal processing, classical controls, or modern controls.
- Hands-on experience in digital or analog electronics design, prototyping, test, and debug.
