About the role#
This co-op position joins the machine intelligence team to build out bioinformatics capabilities and a shared data ecosystem for biological data. You will work on projects ranging from basic research to deployed systems that support national security and medical research. This role starts in January 2027.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and improve engineering solutions for complex problems.
- Implement, test, and analyze software systems while providing documentation support.
- Generate test reports that include plots, tables, evaluation criteria, and data conclusions.
- Build web applications, including work with databases, RESTful server applications, and frontend frameworks like React or Angular.
- Complete assignments to build practical knowledge of engineering processes, equipment, and systems.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program.
- Working toward a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Solid programming experience, preferably with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Some biology knowledge or experience is a plus.
