About the role#
Draper is seeking a Metrology Co-Op to support the research and development of engineering solutions. This role involves working within a multidisciplinary team to improve quality processes across the engineering and manufacturing life cycle. This is a paid, full-time position based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and enhance engineering solutions for technical problems.
- Implement, test, and analyze systems, hardware, and components.
- Generate and present test reports, including plots, tables, and evaluation criteria based on collected data.
- Provide documentation support for testing processes.
- Assist with preventative maintenance schedules for equipment and fixtures.
- Maintain equipment calibration records and interpret measurement data for review.
- Learn the operations and functions of precision measurement equipment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited full-time undergraduate or graduate engineering or science degree program.
- Relevant majors include Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical, Computer, or Environmental Engineering, as well as Physics or Data Science.
- Strong computer skills, specifically in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Ability to perform hands-on laboratory instrumentation and measurement activities.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing environments, risks, and vulnerabilities.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
