    About the role#

    MarketWatch is looking for a reporting intern to join our New York City newsroom for the summer of 2027. You will work alongside editors and reporters to cover essential economic, investing, and market news. This position is part of a 10-week summer program where you will collaborate with teams covering markets, economics, and personal finance.

    What you'll do#

    • Monitor daily news to identify key money and investing angles.
    • Write timely articles on financial and economic topics.
    • Cover breaking news, including market reactions to economic data, policy shifts, and corporate updates.
    • Explain complex events for our audience.
    • Research and contribute to longer enterprise journalism stories.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in a 4-year undergraduate degree program with at least two years of study completed.
    • Preferred majors include Journalism, Communications, or Economics.
    • Strong writing, critical thinking, and collaboration skills.
    • Ability to report and write quickly under deadline pressure.
    • A genuine interest in markets, business, and the economy.
    • Curiosity and a drive to expand daily news into enterprise reporting.

    • Location: New York, New York.
    • Term: June 7, 2027, to August 13, 2027.
    • Modality: Hybrid and on-site in our Midtown Manhattan office.
    • Employment: Full-time internship.
    • This role does not provide visa sponsorship.
