About the role#
This engineering internship supports the Power Generation Renewable Energy group. You will work with a solar fleet that spans 10 states and totals over 2,500 megawatts. The role focuses on applying engineering fundamentals to analyze site performance and find ways to improve production. You will work in a hybrid environment with a schedule of three days in the office and two days of teleworking.
What you'll do#
- Analyze site performance using engineering principles.
- Identify opportunities to improve production across the fleet.
- Verify results to ensure high quality work.
- Handle technical writing and prepare presentations.
- Present findings to employees and leaders.
- Troubleshoot problems and support technical staff.
- Visit solar sites and work outdoors periodically to learn the role.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a 4-year engineering degree program from an ABET accredited school.
- Graduation date of spring 2028 or later.
- Minimum 2.5 GPA.
- Preferred majors include Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Ability to learn software including Microsoft Office, Tableau, Alteryx, and PI systems.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to write technical documents.
- Aptitude for interpreting technical literature, codes, and regulations.
- Experience or willingness to update technical standards and specifications.
- Strong time management and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license.
- Self-motivated work ethic and professional conduct.
